신형 QUANT F는 자동차 분야에서 뛰어난 성능과 환경적 지속가능성이 반드시 서로 배타적일 필요는 없다는 사실을 인상적으로 보여준다. nanoFlowcell(R) 기술이 적용된 전신 전기 자동차 모델 QUANTE E를 완전히 새로 설계한 QUANT F는 100% 전기만으로 300km/h 이상의 속도를 낼 수 있다. 물론 유해한 배기가스는 배출하지 않는다. 또한 주행거리는 최대 800km에 달한다. 이 e-스포츠 세단은 새로운 2단 자동 변속기가 장착되고, 길이가 5.25미터, 무게가 2.3톤이며, 네 명이 탑승할 수 있다. 또한 단 2.8초 만에 0에서 100km/h까지 가속할 수 있다.
하지만 제네바 국제 모터쇼에서 첫 선을 보이며 세계인을 관심을 사로잡은 것은 비단 QUANT F만이 아니었다.
nanoFlowcell AG는 세계 최초의 QUANT 저전압 차량인 신형 QUANTiNO를 컨셉카로 공개했다. 겨우 정격전압 48V에서 작동하는 QUANTiNO는 nanoFlowcell(R), 완충계 및 전기 모터의 결합으로 네 배나 되는 출력 25kW/136hp를 발생시킨다. QUANTiNO의 최고 속도는 200km/h 이상이고, 주행거리는 1,000km가 넘는다. 길이는 3.91미터에 2+2 좌석을 갖춘 QUANTiNO는 그 독특한 디자인으로 깊은 인상을 남긴다. 특히 두드러지는 디테일은 22인치 바퀴다. 이는 QUANTiNO가 크기가 큰 모델들인 QUANTE 및 QUANT F에서 물려받은 것이다.
2개의 175리터 연료탱크가 장착된 QUANTiNO는 총 350리터에 달하는 이온성 액체를 넣을 수 있다. 연료탱크 중 하나는 양극 액체를, 나머지 하나는 음극 액체를 넣는다. 연료 재공급 과정은 오늘날과 비슷하다. 다만, 두 탱크에 동시에 다른 액체를 넣는 차이점만 있을 뿐이다.
La Vecchia CTO는 “최초의 QUANT 저전압 차량인 QUANTiNO의 주행거리는 1,000km가 넘는다”라며 “이는 매우 획기적인 기록”이라고 밝혔다. 이어 그는 “저전압 시스템은 자사의 nanoFlowcell(R)을 이상적으로 보완한다”면서 “자사는 48V 밖에 안 되는 정격 전압과 nanoFlowcell(R)이 완충계와 함께 제공하는 대용량 전류를 통해 100% 전기 운전 모드에서 높은 주행거리와 뛰어난 성능을 구현하고 있다”라고 설명했다. 또한 그는 “전체 대중을 위한 전기 자동차인 QUANTiNO는 미래에 대한 잠재력이 크고, 비교적 비용 효과적인 컨셉카”라면서 “첫 시제 차량은 2015년 초에 나올 전망이다. 자사는 시리즈 생산에 대비해 신속하게 승인을 받을 계획”이라고 덧붙였다.

Nunzio La Vecchia, Chief Technical Officer of nanoFlowcell AG, unveiled the two latest models featuring nanoFlowcell(R) technology at the Geneva International Motor Show: the QUANT F and its little brother QUANTiNO, the first QUANT low-voltage vehicle in the world. "We see the flow-cell technology as the most promising technology with the greatest potential for the future of sustainable electromobility without harmful emissions. It offers an enormous range as well as exceptional performance. For us it represents the best alternative to battery-powered or fuel cell-powered electric vehicles. The flow-cell drive system eliminates many of the disadvantages inherent in existing drive systems and it is also more cost-effective. The new QUANT F is an impressive demonstration of the fact that enormous performance and environmental sustainability do not have to be mutually exclusive in the automotive field: a complete re-design of its predecessor QUANT E, the electric vehicle equipped with nanoFlowcell(R) technology can reach speeds of more than 300 km/h - full electric and without harmful emissions, it has a range of up to 800 km. With its new 2-speed automatic transmission, the 5.25-metre e-sports sedan weighing in at 2.3 tonnes and capable of carrying four people can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 2.8 seconds.
But it was not only the QUANT F that attracted a lot of attention at the world premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show.
With the new QUANTiNO, nanoFlowcell AG also unveiled the world's first QUANT low-voltage vehicle as a concept car. Operating on a rated voltage of only 48 V, the QUANTiNO generates an output of four times 25 kW/136 hp with a combination of nanoFlowcell(R), buffer system and electric motors. The QUANTiNO has a top speed of more than 200 km/h and a range of over 1,000 km. A 2+2 seater with a length of 3.91 metres, the car impresses with its unique design. One stand-out detail: the 22-inch wheels, which the QUANTiNO inherited from its big brothers QUANT E and QUANT F.
With its two 175-litre tanks, the QUANTiNO has a total capacity of 350 litres of ionic liquids, one carrying a positive charge, the other a negative charge. The refuelling process is similar to how it is done today, with the difference that two tanks are filled with different liquids simultaneously.

With a rated voltage of only 48 volts and the large currents that the nanoFlowcell(R) can deliver in combination with the buffer system, we are achieving an enormous range and exceptional performance figures in fully electric operation. As an electric vehicle for the public at large, the QUANTiNO represents a relatively cost-effective concept with great potential for the future. A first prototype is set to take to the road as early as 2015. We are also aiming for rapid homologation in preparation for series production," added La Vecchia.
